PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE ON JUSTICE (NATIONAL ASSEMBLY)
SOUTH AFRICAN LAW COMMISSION REPORT ON THE HARMONISATION OF THE COMMON LAW AND THE INDIGENOUS LAW (Customary Marriages)
It is notified for general information that the South African Law Commission has referred an issue paper number 3 in respect of its project 90, entitled the Harmonisation of the Common Law and the Indigenous Law (Customary Mariages), tothe Portfolio Cmmitee on Justce for comment The closing dae for such coment is 31 October 1996.
The Portfolio Cmmittee onJustice once aain requests all persons ad institutions who wish to submit representations on the subject-matter of the Report to submit such representations in writing to the Committee by not later than 25 October 1996. Please note that although it is permissible to make general comments in representations in respect of the Report, it will be preferable and advisable for representations to be made in the form of specific proposed amendments to it.
