Media arrangements:

Media representatives interested in covering the arrival ceremony on the tarmac to meet Ms Nikky Rose Innes or Mr Sibusiso Mdlalose of the Airports Company at Terminal 2 at the International Arrivals Hall at 15:30 where they will be issued with tarmac permits. Media will be requested to present valid press cards and ID documents or passports. Media will be transported to the tarmac and latecomers will, unfortunately, not be accommodated. No roaming will be allowed on the tarmac outside the demarcated media area. Please note that no flash lights will be permitted during the arrival ceremony.

19:00 Banquet hosted by President Mandela in honour of President Rafsanjani at the Presidential Guest House, Pretoria.

Media arrangements:

Due to limited space inside the banquet hall, strict pool arrangements will apply. The media pool will only be permitted to cover the speeches inside the banquet hall. The electronic media will be allowed to set-up their equipment before the speeches. Only TV and still photographers will be permitted to cover the arrival of the two President's inside the banquet hall. This media pool will be escorted to the media position at 18:50 and will leave the hall at 19:08. No roaming will be allowed outside the demarcated media areas.

Media pool to use the Gate 9 entrance to the Presidential Guest House in Church Street and meet at side entrance to banquet hall at 18:20. No latecomers will be accommodated. Valid press cards and ID documents or passports will be requested at the gate and all media representatives, vehicles and equipment will be searched.

Please note that no flash lights or direct TV lights will be permitted during the speeches. Please note that lighting inside the banquet hall is not ideal and provision (fast film) should be made for these conditions. No microphones will be permitted on the podium and a distribution box with 8 audio feeds will be available. Media representatives forming part of the pool will be under strict obligation to make their material available to all colleagues.

Media arrangements:

Photo-opportunity and informal media conference in courtyard, West wing, Union Buildings for all bona fide journalists. Media to meet at main entrance of West wing, Union Buildings, at 10:00. Valid press cards and ID documents or passports will be required for entrance to the Union Buildings and all media representatives and equipment will be searched. Please note that no flash lights will be permitted during the photo-opportunity.

Media arrangements:

Media representatives who wish to cover the photo-opportunities directly after the courtesy calls and the press conference are advised to report at Gate 9 to the Presidential Guest House, Church Street, Pretoria. The media will be requested to present valid press cards and ID documents or passports. Strict security measures will apply and all media representatives, vehicles and equipment will be searched.

19:00 President Rafsanjani departs for Iran. No media arrangements at the departure.
