MEDIA RELEASE BY MR A M OMAR MP, MINISTER OF JUSTICE IN RELATION TO THE STRIKE OF JUSTICE EMPLOYEES IN NATAL
Further to my earlier media release of 5 September 1996, I wish to point out that I have requested the Deputy Minister of Justice, accompanied by one of my advisors and a senior official of the Department's Head Office, who will be in Natal on other business tomorrow, to again meet with the employees that have embarked on an illegal strike, in order to again address any substantive issues the striking officials may raise.
I have also noted the invitation by Mr Ntshangase to open up his administration to an official of the Departmental Head Office in order to demonstrate the transparency of the Department in this matter.
I appreciate his gesture and will in the interest of the public and to help settle this matter, shortly announce the name of a senior official who will be requested to joint he Regional Office in Ulundi.
