The "Ex KwaZulu Justice Department employees" have embarked the past few days on an illegal strike. They have ascribed problems relating, inter alia, to their relationship with me as part of their reasons for the strike action. To date they have failed to submit particulars relating to their perceived problems.
I want to join the call by the Honourable the Minister of Justice for these employees to put the interests of the public first and to stop with their illegal strike action. There are proper channels whereby their grievances can be dealt with, without causing the public the unnecessary hardship of the last few days.
In order to demonstrate my bona fides and transparency in this matter I will welcome any person from the Departmental Head Office in Pretoria, designated by the Minister of Justice, to join my administration for any period of time and I will gladly hand over the responsibility for the administration of staff matters to such person for such a period.
