MESSAGE TO ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH AFRICAN PARALYMPICS TEAM
I salute you all for the magnificent way in which you represented our country in competition with other nations of the world. Your outstanding achievements have placed us firmly amongst those who strive for excellence.
I salute, from the bottom of my heart, the winners of the gold, silver and bronze medals. Your have done our country proud and set a shining example to all of us. Congratulations to each member of the South African team, including the coaches, managers and administrators for your valiant efforts which speak to us of courage in the face of adversity.
Despite all the obstacles you faced, including limited resources and facilities for disabled people, you have risen to take your place among the best in the world. The medals you bring back will remind us always of your heroism. You are an inspiration to us all, and we look forward to even greater achievements in the future.
