SECTION 205 OF THE CRIMINAL PROCEDURE ACT.
Recent developments relating to the serving of subpoenas on certain media people by the police has necessitated that I convene a meeting for Thursday in Cape Town with Editors in general and the affected ones in particular to discuss Section 205.
I am optimistic that we will be able to address this complex issue to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
My colleague, Dullah Omar, the Minister of Justice, is currently in Lesotho attending a SADC Ministers' meeting. I will be contacting him with the hope that he will be able to attend the meeting.
