Our thoughts are with them, and with the families of those who have been seriously injured. cerned that a thorough investi- gation into this tragic occurrence is being made. No stone will be left unturned to establish fully what the causes were and where responsibility lies. I wish to call on the public to exercise calm, so that the authorities can act as swiftly as possible and with due process.

The safety of commuters must be given the highest priority, and Government will take urgent steps necessary to ensure that such a disaster never occurs again.
