11:00 Arrival at the Waterkloof Airforce Base
To be met by President Mandela, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr A Nzo, and the Chief of State, Visits Mr L M Makhubela
- Red carpet - National Anthem of Senegal - National Anthem of South Africa - 21 Gun salute

14:20 Depart for Mahlamba Ndlopfu, residence of President Mandela
14:30 Courtesy call by President Diouf to President Mandela at Mahlamba Ndlopfu.
14:45 One-on-one discussion between President Mandela and President Diouf.
15:00 Official discussions between the South African and the Senegal delegation.
- President Diouf is decorated by President Mandela with the National Order of Good Hope: Class I: Grand Cross. - Joint communique.
