STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL DEFENCE FORCE (SANDF) REGARDING THE FINALISATION OF THE SANDF INTEGRATION PROGRAMME.
24 MAY 1996
The last intake of former MK and APLA is scheduled to take place on 10 June 1996, signifying the winding down of the integration process.
At the present time 59,3% of all members of former Non-Statutory Forces (MK and APLA) have been integrated into the SANDF. However, intakes have been getting progressively smaller and there is cause for concern that this last planned intake will be completed leaving a considerable residue of names on the Certified Personnel Register (CPR) and name lists of the Non-Statutory Forces.
As in the past, MK and APLA Regional Headquarters throughout the country as well as regional SANDF Commands will co-ordinate the call-up and reporting. In an attempt to ensure greater success with the final intake, the SANDF will be assisting with a dedicated and extensive communication effort. Local ANC and PAC structures will assist in spreading the news of the intake and regional commanders will attempt to contact outstanding members individually.
The reporting dates for this last intake are as follows:
Gauteng (Jhb) 10 June Kwazulu/Natal 7,8 June Eastern Cape 10 June Northern Province 11 June Western Cape 10 June Mpumalanga 10, 11 June North-West 11 June
