DR ZUMA RETURNS FROM A 5-DAY VISIT TO GERMANY
The Minister of Health, Dr N C Dlamini Zuma, who left for the Federal Republic of Germany on Sunday 14 April 1996 is due back in South Africa on Friday 19 April 1996, after completing a historic visit to that country.
She had been invited to Germany by her counterpart, Minister Horst Seehofer with whom she had discussions around the following areas:
1. The recruitment of German doctors to serve in underserved areas in South Africa. 2. The effectiveness of the National Health System in Germany. 3. The development of the German pharmaceutical industry. 4. Public and private sector interaction in Germany.
She also had occasion to visit some of the medical facilities and the pharmaceutical industries in Germany. Accompanying the Minister on this trip was Dr Ayanda Ntsaluba, Deputy Director-General for Health - Policy and Planning and Ms Precious Matsoso, Director of Medical Schemes, Supplies and Pharmaceutical Services in the Department of Health.
