DR ZUMA TO VISIT GERMANY

VISIT OF THE MINISTER OF HEALTH, DR N C ZUMA AND A DELEGATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY

The Minister of Health and her delegation will be visiting the Federal Republic of Germany from the 14-19 April 1996.

This visit is at the invitation of Mr Horst Seehofer, the Minister of Health of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The Minister will utilise this visit to explore the following issues:

• The German pharmaceutical industry.
• Private and public sector interaction in Germany.
• The German health insurance system.
• Possible technical co-operation and the possible recruitment of German doctors.

The South African delegation consists of:

• Dr N C Dlamini Zuma - Minister of Health
• Ms S Mahlangu - The Minister's private secretary.
• Dr A Ntsaluba - Deptuy Director-General: Policy and Planning.
• Ms M P Matsoso - Director: Medical Schemes, Supplies and Services.
• Mr F E Makiwane - Consultant: Health Financing and Economics.

The South African delegation is scheduled to arrive in Frankfurt on Sunday 14 April and will return to South Africa on Saturday 20 April 1996.
