E CAPE PRESIDENTIAL PROJECT TEAM ANNOUNCED
Names of seven of the 10-member Eastern Cape Presidential Project Team were announced in Umtata tody.
The six members who have been appointed as full-time members of the team are:
Mninawe (Pepi) Silinga (team leader) Dion Ramoo (finance) Errol Spring (local government) Andrew Hendricks (new business) Stuart Nichol (technical) Christo Louw (safety and security)
There are three part-time members of the team. Peter Miles (rep;resenting business) has already been appointed and a representative each from the labour and NGO sectors are expected to be announced soon.
The team will be based at Umtata and have satellite office in Bisho.
Silinga is a qualified engineer who has left his position as team leader of the Engineering Services Functional Team of the KATORUS Special Presidential Project on Urban Renewal to take up his new post as leader of the Eastern Cape Presidential Project team.
Ramoo is qualified chartered accountant and currently a partner in the Umtata office of the international consulting firm KPMG.
Spring has served for many years in various local government positions in the Eastern Cape. He is currently the executive director of the Border Chamber of Business and is a former mayor of Umtata and East London.
Hendricks is a qualified advocate and currently works as a consultant in socio-economic and industrial relations for Ngwane & Ngwane Attorneys and is an acting board member (human resources) for Mercedes Benz of SA.
Nichol is a qualified civil engineer with 28 years experience. He is currently a self-employed specialist consultant in development, engineering and management services. He was deputy chairman of Hill Kaplan Scott and has worked as the programme co-ordinator for the Ciskei Urban Management Programme and as an engineer for the Department of Water Affairs.
Louw is a member of the SA Police Services, with the rank of director, based in Umtata.
Miles is a qualified teacher and taught for many years at Queens College Boys High School in Queenstown. He was principal of the Hudson Park High School in East London for six years before resigning to take up his present position as manufacturing manager for Mercedes Benz SA in East London.
