SELECT COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE AND LAND AFFAIRS
It is hereby notified for general information that the Marketing of Agricultural Products Bill (B3-96) was refered to the Select Committee on Agriculture and Land Affairs (Senate) by Parliament on to enquire into and report upon the Bill and matters incidental thereto, the Committee to have power to take evidence and call for papers.
The Select Committee invites all persons and institutions who wish to submit written representations (if possible 30 copies must be provided) in writing to the Committee not later than 29 February 1996.
The Bill is a product of long debate between various parties whereby highly controversial and very different opinions have been highlighted. This invitation is extended in the light of transparancy and participation in order to finalise this debate and to ensure that practical and well researched legislation is produced.
If any person or institution wishes to address the Committee in respect of such witten rpresentations, such a request must be directed to the Committee. It must be borne in mind that the Committee reserves the right of affording persons and institutions the opportunity of appearing before it.
