PRESS STATEMENT BY MINISTER OF JUSTICE, MR DULLAH OMAR MP ON THE MURDER OF MRS REBECCA MTHIMKHULU AND HER DAUGHTER GUGU
I am deeply shocked and saddened by the brutal murder of Mrs Mthimkhulu and her daughter Gugu in Diepkloof on Monday and wish to convey my condolences to their family and friends. The loss of a family member is a terrible thing. To lose two in such circumstances is a great tragedy.
It is imperative that the perpetrators of this vile and cowardly murder are apprehended and brought to justice without delay and I appeal to any member of the community with information that may help bring these criminals to book to come forward.
The Government has committed itself to stamping out this kind of violent crime. We will not tolerate such cold-blooded, vicious and brutal acts against our fellow citizens and we will act in the strongest possible way against those who commit them.
