ACTONVILLE CRISIS COMMITTEE MEMORANDUM TO SEXWALE

Senior officials in the Office of the Premier of Gauteng Mr Tokyo Sexwale, Ms Ilva Mackay Langa and Mikki Xayiya, today (December 12) met representatives from the Actonville Crisis Committee to discuss, among other things, the committee's demand that:

1. RE-ELECTIONS SHOULD TAKE PLACE IN GREATER BENONI'S WARDS 6,7,8 AND 10; AND

2. ARREARS ACCUMULATED AS A RESULT OF SERVICES NON PAYMENT BE SCRAPPED

A memorandum from the Crisis Committee has been submitted to the Premier and all the other necessary steps such as obtaining a report from the local Government and Housing Department as well as consulting legal advisers have been embarked upon.

The Office of the Premier hopes to respond fully to the memorandum within the next few days.
