RE: ELECTIONS IN THE EASTERN SERVICES COUNCIL AREAS
Tomorrow marks the final step of the completion of the democratization process of the region. Urban, metropolitan and transitional local councils in this province have been elected on the 1st of November this year while the Eastern Services Council area lacked behind; and now all residents of this area will exercise their democratic right in deciding their future by electing democratic local authority.
The Gauteng Government appeals to employers throughout the province to allow their employees who registered as voters in the Eastern Services Council areas time off from work so that they can go and vote. All systems are up and running in all polling stations in this area and we are ready to deliver these election.
The results will be announced as soon as they are received from the provincial operations room in Newgate House.
