ELEVENTH MEETING OF COMMONWEALTH HEALTH MINISTERS MEETING IN SOMERSET WEST, SOUTH AFRICA
South Africa will for the first time host a Commonwealth Ministers Meeting. The eleventh triennial meeting of Commonwealth Ministers will be held at the Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West, near Cape Town from December 3-7, 1995.
The theme of the Meeting is "Women and Health". It will focus on various issues such as "Women for Health", "Women's experience of Health" and "Research and promotion of Women's Health". The aim of the meeting is to enable ministers to share common experiences and to make recommendations for future Commonwealth action.
The meeting will officially be opened by President Nelson Mandela at the Endler Conservatory, University of Stellenbosch on Sunday, December 3, 1995. This event will be attended by international and national dignitaries.
It is expected that more than thirty Commonwealth Member Countries will attend this meeting. Most of the delegates will be visiting South Africa for the first time. This event will be attended by international and national dignitaries.
