The Department of Land Affairs in cooperation with the RDP Office will present a workshop on the future of the Town and Regional Planning profession on 21-23 November 1995.
The main objectives of the workshop will be to:
Minister Derek Hanekom and Deputy Minister Tobie Meyer of the Department of Land Affairs will be addressing the workshop on the 22 and 23 November respectively with specific reference to the responsibility of the Department regarding the future of the town and regional planning profession in terms of administering the Act on Town and Regional Planners.
Professor Cliff Hague, a world renowned authority for his expertise in the field of Town and Regional Planning, will give an international overview of the profession.
The workshop has been arranged for persons involved in planning in the urban and regional context within National and Provincial Government, Metropolitan/Local Government, the Development Planning Association of SA, the SA Council for Town and Regional Planners, the SA Institute of Town and Regional Planners, Universities, Technicons, NGO's, and private consultants.
The workshop will be held at Club Mykonos, Langebaan, Western Cape.
