The credentials ceremonies will take place at the Union Buildings. The procedures will begin at 08h30 and end at 12h45.
In the evening, the President will host an informal dinner with journalists from the South African Broadcasting Corporation at his official residence, Mahlamba - ndlopfu, Pretoria.

Receives President Mario Soares of Portugal at the Union Buildings. President Soares will arrive at the Union Buildings at 09h00.
At 16h00, there will be a presentation of the Draft Constitution. The function will be held at Mahlamba - ndlopfu.
In the evening, the President will host a State Banquet in honour of President Soares. The banquet will take place at the Presidential Guest House.

At 19h00, the President will attend the launch of the Biography of the Late Joe Slovo, the former Minister of Housing and leader of the South African Communist Party.
