I have taken note of speculation in the press that Deputy President, FW de Klerk, Minister Roelf Meyer and Minister Pik Botha, are targets for possible prosecution in respect of hit-squad activities.
Nothing that I have said to the media can justify this inference.
This is a red herring and an attempt to dramatise a matter for which no foundation exists.
Whilst no one is above the law, I can state that I am not aware of any investigation being conducted by the police in which the three persons are directly or indirectly implicated in any criminal activities.
