HOUSING MINISTER VISITS GERMANY

Housing Minister Sankie Mthembi Nkondo left South Africa on Saturday, November 4, for a six day visit to Germany.

The Minister's programme envisages meetings with German Housing Minister Klaus Toepfer, Economic Cooperation and Development Minister Claus Dieter Spranger, and the Housing Minister of the federal state of North Rhein Westphalia, Michael Vesper. She will also hold discussions with representatives of the Friedrich Ebert, Konrad Adenauer, Hans Seidel, and Friedrich Naumann foundations.

On Thursday, Minister Mthembi Nkondo opens a seminar on housing in South Africa hosted by Ambassador Lindiwe Mabuza in Bonn. Participants include representatives of German banks, housing cooperatives, NGO's, and state development aid organisations.

Minister Mthembi Nkondo is accompanied on her German trip by Mortgage Indemnity Fund Chief Executive Nkululeko Sowazi and her Private Secretary, Bertha Nene.
