The Chairperson Standing Committee Cape Town 8001
Dear Sir/Madam
I am hereby making this application to your committee on behalf of Khayelitsha Law Graduates who are unemployed with a view to ascertain whether any assistance can be obtained from your committee.
Most of us are post-graduates who struggle to secure articles in law firms and also we have applied to the Department of Justice since 1993 without any positive results.
In view of the fact that legal representation and access to justice is still the privilege of the few, we mooted an idea which we hope will be considered seriously by your committee in the light of the above contradiction.
We are a group of about twelve law graduates who feel that we can make a meaningful contribution in the administration of justice in Khayelitsha which can solveat the same time bring access to justice to our big community as part of the government policy of RDP initiative.
We would be pleased if you can allow us your time to make personal representation and hear from you about the possibilities of this idea.
We wish to hear from you at your earliest convenience.
Yours faithfully Alfred Mbalo (Biuris, LLB) Contact person 021 361 2235
