MEDIA STATEMENT November pension pay-out date delayed
Statement by Gauteng's MEC for
Welfare & Population Development, Mr Sakkie Blanche
Due to the local government elections to be held on 1 November, the Gauteng Department of Welfare & Population Development will be unable to pay social pensions to beneficiaries on this day, which will in all probability be declared a public holiday. It may even be possible that voting will be extended to 2 November 1995.
Payment of pensions has therefore been rescheduled and representatives of the community have been advised accordingly.
