THE PRESIDENT OF THE INDUSTRIAL COURT WITHDRAWS HIS RESIGNATION

PRESS STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER OF LABOUR T T MBOWENI, MP

Issued by: Ministry of Labour

14 May 1995

The President of the Industrial Court, Professor Adolf Landman who submitted a letter of resignation to me a few weeks ago has now withdrawn his resignation.

Professor Landman took his decision following discussions with the Deputy Director General, Mr Les Kettledas and after considering the issues I raised in a letter to him. He was satisfied thereafter that there was no need for him to resign. I welcome this decision by Professor Landman and believe that he has a crucial role to play within the coming months to address the situation we face regarding the huge backlog cases which we have inherited from the previous administration.

I am attaching the correspondence sent by Professor Landman to me in which he withdraws his resignation.
