SOUTH AFRICAN QUALIFICATIONS AUTHORITY
Announcement of Intention to Accredit the Energy Sector Education and Training Authority (ESETA)
The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) hereby notifies the public that it intends to accredit the Energy Sector Education and Training Authority (ESETA) for the following existing trades and non-designated trades inherited from the former ITBs, namely Eskom and Allied Industries Training Board (EAITB) and Electrical Contracting Industry Training Board (ECITB) as they are registered with the Department of Labour:
Designated Trades:
- Electrician (heavy current)
- Electrician (construction)
- Instrument Mechanician
- Fitter and Turner
- Fitter
- Installation Electrician
- Master installation electrician
Non-designated Trades:
- Boilermaker
- Welder
- Painter
- Bricklayer
- Motor Mechanic
- Diesel Mechanic
- Carpenter
- Rigger
- Electrical Distribution Operator
- Electrical Construction Operator Single Phase
- Electrical Construction Operator level 1-3
- Domestic appliance repairman
- Single Phase Tester
from the 18 April 2001 to 17 April 2004 in terms of Section 2 (1) of the Education and Training Quality Assurance Regulations (Government Gazette No. 19231 published on 8 September 1998).
Objections to such accreditation must please be lodged with the Executive Officer of SAQA by the 16 April 2001.
