The Council of the Technikon Free State has, with the approval of the Minister of Education, under section 32 of the Higher Education Act, 1997 (Act No. 101 of 1997), made the amendments to the Statute set out in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

2. In the Schedule, unless the context otherwise indicates, the expression "the Statute" means the Statute of the Technikon Free State promulgated by Government Notice No. 715 of 4 June 1999.

3. The following paragraph is substituted for paragraph 20(2) of the Statute:

"(2) Whenever it is necessary for support services employees to elect a person as a member of the council as contemplated in section 27(4)(g) of the Act, such representative is elected [by secret ballot and a majority of the members present at an ordinary meeting of the support services board] from the support services employees- by the support services employees, and the election procedure as set out in paragraph [17] 20(1) applies with the necessary changes.".
