PUBLIC NOTICE BY NSB 11, SERVICES, APPLICATION TO RE-REGISTER AN SGB FOR HOSPITALITY, TOURISM, TRAVEL, LEISURE AND GAMING

NSB 11 has decided, in terms of NSB Regulation 24 (1) (e), to extend the brief and membership of the SGB for Hospitality, Tourism, Travel, Leisure and Gaming for NQF levels 2 - 8.

PROPOSED BRIEF OF THE SGB

Develop learning pathways for potential qualifications and unit standards in the area of Hospitality, Tourism, Travel, Leisure and Gaming from level 2 through to level 8 [Regulation 24 (1) (e)].

The following qualifications shall be generated:

Unit standards in Tourism (levels 2 - 5)

National Certificate in Tourism: Events Support (level 4)

National Certificate in Tourism: Events Co-Ordination (level 5)

Post Graduate Diploma in Events Design and Management (level 7)

Masters in Events Management (level 8)

National Certificate in Tourism: Car Rental (level 5)

National Certificate in Tourism: Cabin Crew (level 5)

National Certificate in Tourism: Reception (level 4)

National Certificate in Service Supervision (level 5)

First Degree in Service Management (level 6)

National Diploma in Tourism Management (level 6)

Masters in Tourism (level 8)

National Certificate in Casino Financial Administration (level 4)

National Diploma in Slots Technical (level 5)

Recommend the qualifications and standards generated under 1 and 2 above, to the NSB [Regulation 24 (1) (c)].

Recommend criteria for the registration of assessors and moderators or moderating bodies [Regulation 24 (1) (d)].

Liase with any other SGBs, as required, where Tourism is involved or being considered [Regulation 24 (1) (e)].

Accept and perform other related functions as requested by NSB 11, Services [Regulation 24 (1) (e)].
