GENERAL NOTICE

NSB 07 has received an application to recognise and register an SGB for Election Management in the sub-field of Public Policy, Politics and Democratic Citizenship for NQF levels 5 - 8.

PROPOSED BRIEF OF THE SGB

1. Develop learning pathways for potential qualifications and standards in the area of Election Management from level 5 through to level 8 [Regulation 24 (1) (e)].
2. Generate the following standards and qualifications in .the area of Election Management in the sub-field of Public Policy, Politics and Democratic Citizenship in accordance with Authority requirements for NQF levels 5 - 8, for competencies in the practice of election process and procedure; legal requirements and administration of elections; registration process and procedure; financial and equipment administration; information technology [Regulation 24 (1) (a)].
3. The following qualifications shall be generated:

• Higher Certificate in Election Management (Level 5)
• Diploma in Election Management (Level 5)
• First Degree in Election Management (Level 6)
• Masters Degree in Election Management (Level 7)
• Doctorate in Election Management (Level 8)

4. Recommend the qualifications and standards generated under 1 and 2 above, to the NSB [Regulation 24 (1) (c)].
5. Recommend criteria for the registration of assessors and moderators or moderating bodies [Regulation 24 (1) (d)].
6. Liase with any other SGBs, as required, where environment and society interactions are involved/are being considered [Regulation 24 (1) (e)].
7. Perform such other related functions as may from time to time be delegated by the NSB [Regulation 24 (1) (e)].
