LOCAL GOVERNMENT: CROSS-BOUNDARY MUNICIPALITIES BILL, 2000
The Minister for Provincial and Local Government intents introducing the Local Government: Cross-Boundary Municipalities Bill, 2000 in the National Assembly during 2000. The explanatory summary of the Bill is hereby published in accordance with Rule 241 of the Rules of the National Assembly.
The Bill provides for:
The required authorisation for the specific MECs to establish municipalities in the areas that have been proposed by the Municipal Demarcation Board to extend across provincial boundaries.
