GENERAL NOTICE

Notice 725 of 2000

NSB 03 hereby registers an SGB for Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, for a period of three years, until 06 June 2003.

BRIEF OF THE SGB

1. Identify transformation, development and equity issues relevant to the sub-field Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management in NQF organising field 03 and develop mechanisms to include these issues within standards and qualifications as envisaged in 2 below [Regulation 24(1)(e)].

2. Generate qualifications and standards at NQF levels 1 to 8 relating to Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management in the areas of Purchasing Management and Practices, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Procurement, Customs Clearing, Freight Forwarding and Logistics:

• National Certificate in Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Levels 1 - 4)
• National Diploma in Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Level 5)
• National First Degree in Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Level 6)
• Honours Degree in Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Level 7)
• Masters and Doctoral Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management (Levels 8) [Regulation 24(1)(a)].

3. Liaise with all other SGBs in the field whose briefs mandate them to generate management standards and qualifications, as well as the SGB for Transport, Operations and Logistics in NSB 11 [Regulation 24(1)(a) & (e)].
4. Recommend the standards and qualifications generated in 2, above, to National Standards Body 03 [Regulation 24(1)(c)].
5. Recommend criteria for the registration of assessor and moderators or moderating bodies [Regulation 24(1)(d)].
6. Accept and perform other related functions as requested by NSB 03 [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
