SKILLS DEVELOPMENT ACT, 1998 (ACT NO 97 OF 1998)

THE HEALTH AND WELFARE SECTOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING AUTHORITY 0lWSETA) - INVITATION FOR NOMINATIONS

The Minister of Labour has in terms of Chapter 3 Section 9 of the Skills Development Act, 1998 (Act No 97 of 1998) established the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA) in order to develop a skilled workforce, appropriately educated, trained and empowered to render quality services to meet the health and welfare needs of all South Africans. In terms of clause 9 (3) (a) of the HWSETA Constitution nominations are invited to establish the HWSETA Board.

The HWSETA Board will consist of 24 members and nominations are invited in the following categories:

  1. Representing Government:
  1. Representing Organised employers (6 vacancies);
  2. Representing Organised labour (10 vacancies);
  3. Representing the statutory health councils (1 vacancy); and
  4. Representing the levy-exempt sector (1 vacancy).

Nominations, which must be in writing and accompanied by a curriculum vitae of the nominee and his or her written acceptance of the nomination, must be addressed to:
