THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL ROADS AGENCY LIMITED.

DECLARATION OF THREE (3) EXISTING ROAD SECTIONS AS NATIONAL ROADS: PROVINCE OF THE EASTERN CAPE

On recommendation of The South African National Roads Agency Limited, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 40 (1) (a) of The South African National Roads Agency Limited and National Roads Act, 1998 (Act 7 of 1998),1 hereby declare that the existing roads as described in the attached Schedule, shall be national roads.

SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF ROADS

(1)

The road known as the N2 (previously also known as Trunk Road 2) from the middle of the Great Fish River, where the adjacent national road (item 4 of Government notice No. 1322 of 1989, "National Route N2/ 13: Grahamstown - Ciskei Border") terminates, thence proceeding in a general easterly and north-easterly direction through the town of Peddie, through the town of King William's Town up to the junction of R347 (MR 691 from Zwelitsha) immediately east of King William's Town Extension 9 Township where the adjacent national road (Government Notice No. 1425 of 1990, "National Route N2/15: King William's Town - Berlin") commences; a total distance of approximately 72 km.

The road known as the N2 from the middle of the Great Kei River, where the adjacent national road (Government notice No. 199 of 1974, "National Route Great Kei River Bridge N2/16") terminates, thence proceeding in a general northerly direction through the town of Butterworth, through the town of Idutywa. through the city of Umtata, through the town of Qumbu, through the town of Mount Frere. through the toxin of Mount Ayliff up to Brook's Nek, where the adjacent national road (Government Notice No. 1322 of 1989, "National Route N2: Brook's Nek - Marburg") commences. (a total distance of approximately 322 km.).

The road sections known as the N2 that were part of the former Transkei, from the eastern boundary of the farm Kalkfontein 252 to the southern boundary of the farm Draai Kloof 251; from the eastern boundary of the form Draai Kloof 251 to the former Transkei border in the Ingeli Forest, to make existing national road N2 (Government Notice No. 1322 of 1989, "National Route N2: Brook's Nek - Marburg" ) a continuous national road. (a total distance of approximately 6 km.).
