PUBLIC NOTICE BY NSB 07, HUMAN AND SOCIAL STUDIES, OF AN APPLICATION TO REGISTER AN SGB FOR DEMOCRACY, HUMAN RIGHTS AND PEACE EDUCATION |
NSB 07 has received an application to recognise and register an SGB for Democracy, Human Rights and Peace Education in the sub-field of Public Policy, Politics and Democratic Citizenship.
PROPOSED BRIEF OF THE SGB
Develop learning pathways for potential qualifications and standards in the area of Democracy, Human Rights and Peace Education from level 1 through to level 8 [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
Generate the following qualifications and standards in the area of Democracy, Human Rights and Peace Education in accordance with Authority requirements, at NQF levels 1 to 8, for competencies in the practice of Democracy Education, Human Rights Education, Constitutional Education, Peace Education, Voter Education, Good Governance Practice, Citizenship Education, Development Education, Advocacy training, Public participation training, Democratic leadership training, Civic Education, and Peace Education [Regulation 24(1)(a)]:
- Standards in Democracy, Human Rights and Peace Education leading to a GETC (level 1)
- Certificate in Democracy, Human Rights and Peace Education (levels 2 - 4)
- Certificate in Democracy, Human Rights and Peace Education (level 5)
- Diploma in Democracy, Human Rights and Peace Education (Level 5)
- First Degree in Democracy, Human Rights and Peace Education (Level 6)
- Masters Degree in Democracy, Human Rights and Peace Education (Level 7)
- Doctorate in Democracy, Human Rights and Peace Education (Love 8)
Recommend the qualifications and standards generated under 1 and 2, above, to the NSB [Regulation 24(1)(c)].
Recommend criteria for the registration of assessors and moderators or moderating bodies [Regulation 24(1)(d)].
Liaise with other SGBs in the sub-field of Public Policy, Politics and Democratic Citizenship in the generation of qualifications and standards [Regulation 24 (1)(e)].
Perform such other functions as may from time to time be delegated by NSB 07, Human and Social Studies [Regulation 24 (1)(e)].

NSB 07 has received an application to recognise and register an SGB for Traditions, History and Legacies in the sub-field of Traditions, Histories and Legacies.
PROPOSED BRIEF OF THE SGB
Develop learning pathways for potential qualifications and standards in the sum field Traditions, History and Legacies from level 1 through to level 8 [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
Generate standards in Traditions, History and Legacies leading towards a General Education and Training Certificate (GETC) at level 1, in accordance with Authority requirements [Regulation 24(1)(a)].
Generate the following qualifications and standards, in accordance with Authority requirements, in the areas of the practice of regional and national developmental science and planning; education, heritage and community maintenance; history, archives, and historical and cultural tourism; the dissemination of the human past - journalism, art, cultural resource management and environmental consultancy; and professional research (including skills in communication, writing, general knowledge, evaluation, investigation and assessment from various methodological perspectives) [Regulation 24(1)(a)]:
- Certificates in Traditions, History and Legacies (levels 2 - 4)
- Diploma in Traditions, History and Legacies (level 5)
- First Degree in Traditions, History and Legacies (level 6)
- Masters Degree in Traditions, History and Legacies (level 7)
- Doctorate in Traditions, History and Legacies (level 8)
