HOUSING CONSUMERS PROTECTION MEASURES ACT, 1998 (ACT No. 95 OF 1998)

Call for nominations of persons to serve on the new National Home Builders Registration Council

In terms of section 4 (3) (a) of the Housing Consumers Protection Measures Act, 1998 (Act No. 95 of 1998), read with section 4 (2) thereof, I hereby call for nominations of persons to serve on the new National Home Builders Registration Council established in terms of section 2 of the above Act.

Such persons should—

• be representative of the interests of housing consumers;
• be broadly representative of the interests of home builders, the suppliers of housing goods and services and associated professions;
• have skills and experience regarding -

- structural defects in homes;
- the prevention thereof; and
- the management of funds;

• as far as possible reflect broadly the race, gender and geographic composition of South Africa.

Nominations should be received by 21 February 2000.
