PUBLIC NOTICE BY NSB 04, COMMUNICATION STUDIES AND LANGUAGE, OF AN APPLICATION TO REGISTER AN SGB FOR ARCHIVES AND RECORDS MANAGEMENT

NSB 04 has received an application to recognise and register an SGB for Archives and Records Management.

PROPOSED BRIEF OF THE SGB

Develop learning pathways for potential qualifications and unit standards in the sub-field Information Studies from level 4 through to level 6 [Regulation 24(1)(e)]
Generate the following qualifications in accordance with Authority requirements, for NQF levels 4 to 6:

National Certificate in Archival Studies (level 4)

National Certificate in Archival Studies (level 5)

National Diploma in Archival Studies (level 5)

BTech in Archival Studies (Level 6)

Further Certificate in Archival Studies (level 6)
[Regulation 24(1)(a).

Recommend the qualifications and standards generated under 2, above, to the NSB [Regulation 24(1)(c)].
Recommend criteria for the registration of assessors and moderators or moderating bodies [Regulation 24(1)(d).
Review these qualifications and unit standards and effect the necessary changes [Regulation 24(1)(b)].
