SOUTH AFRICAN QUALIFICATIONS AUTHORITY
PUBLIC NOTICE BY NSB 03, BUSINESS, COMMERCE AND MANAGEMENT STUDIES, OF THE REGISTRATION OF AN SGB FOR MARKETING |
NSB 03 hereby registers an SGB for Marketing for a period of three years, until 18 February 2000. The SGB will liaise closely with all the other sub-fields under Business, Commerce and Management.
BRIEF OF THE SGB
To generate standards in the sub-field, Marketing in the areas of: market research, market strategy, product/service development, pricing, distribution, consumer and buyer behaviour, brand management, merchandising, wholesaling, retailing, advertising, promotions, media management, direct response marketing, database marketing, call centre management, public relations, personal selling, sales management, marketing communications and customer service [Regulation 24(1)(a)].
To combine standards in the above areas into qualifications in accordance with Authority requirements:
- Certificates in Marketing at NQF Level 4
- Higher Certificates and Diplomas in Marketing at NQF Level 5
- Diplomas and Bachelor degrees in Marketing at NQF Level 6 and 7
- Masters and Doctoral degrees in Marketing at NQF Levels 7 and 8
To develop learning pathways for potential standards and qualifications in marketing, for NQF levels 4 through 8 [Regulation 24 (1) (a)].
To recommend the standards, qualifications and pathways (in 1 & 2 above to NSB 03 [Regulation 24 (1) (c)].
To recommend criteria for the registration of assessors and moderators or moderating bodies for marketing education and training [Regulation 24 (1) (d)]
To review, add to and update standards and qualifications in marketing, as required [Regulation 24 (1) (b)].
To perform such other functions as may be delegated by NSB 03 [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
