PUBLIC NOTICE BY NSB 01, AGRICULTURE AND NATURE CONSERVATION, OF AN APPLICATION TO REGISTER AN SGB FOR NATURE CONSERVATION |
NSB 01 has received an application to recognise and register an SGB for Nature Conservation.
Proposed Brief of the SGB
Develop learning pathways for potential qualifications in the sub-field Nature Conservation from level 1 through to level 8 [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
Generate the following unit standards-based qualifications in the sub- field, in accordance with Authority requirements, at NQF levels 5 to 8 [Regulation 24(1)(a)]:
Certificate in Natural Resource Conservation (NQF level 5), Diploma in Natural Resource Management (NQF level 5), First Degree in Natural Resource Management (NQF level 6), and Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Natural Resource Management (NQF levels 7 & 8) in the areas of animal/vegetation management; natural resources protection or natural resources integrity; infrastructure maintenance; sustainable natural resources utilisation; conservation-based community development or community-based natural resources management; terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems management; tourism / visitor interaction and management; natural resources economics or valuing wildlife; and unique cultural and natural sites management
Certificate in Community Conservation (NQF level 5), Diploma in Community Conservation (NQF level 5), First Degree in Community Conservation (NQF level 6), and Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Community Conservation (NQF levels 7 & 8) in the areas of sustainable land use options; partnerships; community-based tourism and rural development; and the project cycle
Certificate in Field Guiding (NQF level 5), Diploma in Field Guiding (NQF level 5), First Degree in Field Guiding (NQF level 6), and Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Field Guiding (NQF levels 7 & 8) in the areas of customer care and services excellence; the interpretative experience; client safety; and eco-friendly guiding and guiding ethics.
Recommend the qualifications and standards generated under 2, above, to the NSB [Regulation 24(1)(c)].
Recommend criteria for the registration of assessors and moderators or moderating bodies [Regulations 24(1)(d)].
Perform such other functions as may from time to time be delegated by NSB 01 [ Regulation 24(1)(e)].
