PUBLIC NOTICE BY NSB 04, COMMUNICATION STUDIES AND LANGUAGE, OF AN APPLICATION TO REGISTER AN SGB FOR GOVERNMENT COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS |
NSB 04 has received an application to recognise and register an SGB for Government Communications and Information systems in the sub-field of Communication Studies.
PROPOSED BRIEF OF THE SGB
Develop learning pathways for potential qualifications and unit standards in the sub-field Public Service Communications Practice from level 5 through to level 8 [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
Generate the following qualifications and standards in the sub-field in accordance with Authority requirements:
- National Certificate in Public Service Communications Practice (level5)
- Diplomas in Public Service Communications Practice (level 5)
- Further Diplomas in Public Service Communications Practice (level 6)
- First Degree in Public Service Communications Practice (level 6)
- Masters in Public Service Communications Practice (level 7)
- Doctorate in Public Service Communications Practice (level 8)
[Regulation 24(1)(a)].
Research and assess professional competence and continuing professional development leading to renewal of professional qualifications within the Public Service Communications [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
Recommend the qualifications and standards generated under 2, above, to the NSB [Regulation 24(1)(c)].
Recommend criteria for the registration of assessors and moderators or moderating bodies [Regulation 24(1)(d)].
Perform such other tasks as may from time to time be assigned by the NSB.
