PUBLIC NOTICE BY NSB 06, MANUFACTURING, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, OF AN APPLICATION TO REGISTER AN SGB FOR DAIRY TECHNOLOGY |
NSB 06 has received an application to recognise and register an SGB for Dairy Technology.
PROPOSED BRIEF OF THE SGB
Develop learning pathways for potential qualifications and unit standards in the sub-field Manufacturing and Assembly from Level 1 through to Level 6 [Regulation 24(1)(e)]. Should the need arise, the brief of the SGB may be expanded to include standards and qualifications in Dairy Technology at NQF levels 7 and 8.
Generate the following qualifications in accordance with Authority requirements:
- National Certificate in Laboratory and Quality Assurance (level 1)
- National Certificate in Dairy Processing Assistance (level 1)
- National Certificate in Secondary Dairy Packaging Assistance (level 1)
- National Certificate in Dairy Laboratory and Quality Assistance (level 2)
- National Certificate in Dairy Processing Operation (level 2)
- National Certificate in Primary Dairy Packaging Operation (level 2)
- National Certificate in Dairy Laboratory and Quality Assurance Analysis (level 3)
- National Certificate in Primary Dairy Processing (level 3)
- National Certificate in Dairy Laboratory and Quality Analysis (level 4)
- National Certificate in Dairy Specialised Processing (level 4)
- National Certificate in Dairy Specialised Packaging (level 4)
- National Vocational Certificate in Dairy Laboratory and Quality Assurance Techniques (level 5)
- National Vocational Certificate in Master Dairy Processing (level 5)
- National Diploma in Dairy Science and Technology (level 6)
- National First Degree in Dairy Science and Technology (level 6)

Recommend the standards and qualifications generated under 2, above,to the National Standards Body [Regulation 24(1)(c)].
Recommend criteria for the registration of assessors and moderators or moderating bodies [Regulation 24(1)(d)].
Review these qualifications and unit standards and effect the necessary changes [Regulation 24(1)(b)].
Maintain liaison, during the process of developing standards and qualifications, with related Standards Generating Bodies in the field [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
