PUBLIC NOTICE BY NSB 06, MANUFACTURING, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, OF AN APPLICATION TO REGISTER AN SGB FOR DAIRY TECHNOLOGY

NSB 06 has received an application to recognise and register an SGB for Dairy Technology.

PROPOSED BRIEF OF THE SGB

  1. Develop learning pathways for potential qualifications and unit standards in the sub-field Manufacturing and Assembly from Level 1 through to Level 6 [Regulation 24(1)(e)]. Should the need arise, the brief of the SGB may be expanded to include standards and qualifications in Dairy Technology at NQF levels 7 and 8.

  2. Generate the following qualifications in accordance with Authority requirements:

[Regulation 24(1)(a)].

  1. Recommend the standards and qualifications generated under 2, above,to the National Standards Body [Regulation 24(1)(c)].

  2. Recommend criteria for the registration of assessors and moderators or moderating bodies [Regulation 24(1)(d)].

  3. Review these qualifications and unit standards and effect the necessary changes [Regulation 24(1)(b)].

  4. Maintain liaison, during the process of developing standards and qualifications, with related Standards Generating Bodies in the field [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
