PUBLIC NOTICE BY NSB 06 MANUFACTURING, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY
OF AN APPLICATION TO REGISTER AN SGB FOR "Chemical Oil and Allied Industries OBET

NSB 06 has received an application to recognise and register an SGB for
"Chemical Oil and Allied Industries OBET

Proposed SGB FOR "Chemical Oil and Allied Industries

Proposed Brief
  1. To develop learning pathways for potential qualifications and unit standards in the sub-field Manufacturing and Assembly in organising field 06 from levels 1 through to 8 [regulation 12(1)(e)]
  2. To generate Chemical Oil and Allied qualifications and unit standards in the sub field in accordance with the Authority requirements for NQF levels 1 through 8.

    3. These would cover the areas of preparations and operations which include raw material handling; establishment of start up for manufacturing processes; Identification of Hazardous and abnormal conditions; Responding to hazardous conditions or emergencies; preparation for shut-down; and shutting down the plant and contribute to the maintenance of the plant equipment, handling, operating and control of plant equipment and machinery, health hygiene and safety systems, |regulation 21(1)(a)].

  1. To recommend and align the following qualifications:
  • Material Handling levels 1;
  • Equipment Handling levels 1 to 2
  • Plant operations levels 2 to 3
  • Process operations 4 to 5
  • Senior Process controller and Master artisan level 5 to 6
  1. To recommend criteria for the registration of assessors and moderators or moderating bodies Regulation 24(1)(d)].
