DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS AND TOURISM
PUBLICATION OF EXPLANATORY SUMMARY OF TOURISM AMENDMENT BILL
The Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism intends introducing the Tourism Amendment Bill in Parliament during October 1999. The explanatory summary of the Bills is hereby published in accordance with Rule 241 (c) of the Rules of the National Assembly.
The Amendment Bill provides for:
The Amendment of the Tourism Act 72 of 1993, so as to insert certain definitions; to further provide for the training and registration of tourist guides; to make provision for a code of conduct for tourist guides; to regulate the procedure for lodging complaints; top provide for disciplinary measures, appeals and reviews; to criminalise certain conduct; to make provision for a duty to provide information; and to make provision for the endorsement of certain registers in appropriate cases; and to provide for transitional matters; and to provide for matters connected therewith.
