PUBLIC NOTICE BY NSB 05, EDUCATION, TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT, OF THE INTENTION TO REGISTER AN SGB FOR DEVELOPMENT PRACTITIONERS IN THE SUB-FIELD OF ADULT LEARNING |
NSB 05 has decided to establish and register an SGB for Development Practitioners in the Sub-field of Adult Learning. Unit standards will be generated in the area of mobilisation of learners, organisation and co-ordination of workshops, mass capability, conscientisation, advocacy, and lobbying. The field of development cuts across all social sectors.
PROPOSED BRIEF OF THE SGB
Identify, in consultation and collaboration with other relevant initiatives, the integration, quality and equity issues of relevance to the sub-field [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
Identify the competence necessary to produce competent ETD practice outcomes addressing 1, above, and distinguish the competencies that are generic to the ETD field from those specific to Adult Learning and specifically to development [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
Design learning pathways for Development ETD practitioners within learning pathways for the field [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
Generate the following standards and qualifications, in accordance with Authority requirements, for competencies in Development ETD practice:
- Unit Standards that lead to a National Certificate in Development Practice at NQF Level 1
- National Certificate in Development Practice (NQF Level 1)
- National Certificate in Development Practice (NQF Level 4)
- National Diploma in Development Practice (NQF Level 5)
- National First Degree in Development Practice (NQF Level 6)
- Honours Degree in Development Practice (NQF Level 7)
- Masters Degree in Development Practice (NQF Level 8).
Recommend the standards and qualifications generated under 4 above to the NSB [Regulation 24(1)(c)].
Recommend criteria for the registration of assessors and moderators or moderating bodies [Regulation 24(1)(c)].
Accept and perform other Development SGB-related functions as requested by NSB 05. [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
