PRESIDENT OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF SOUTH AFRICA
Notice of the first meeting of the National Assembly pursuant to section 51 (1) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa (1996)
It is hereby notified for general information that under and by virtue of the power vested in me by section 51 (1), read with sections 52 (2) and 86 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, I, Arthur Chaskalson, President of the Constitutional Court of South Africa, have fixed Monday, 14 June 1999, at 10:30, as the date and time, and the Chamber of Parliament in the Houses of Parliament, Cape Town, as the place for the nomination and election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and 14:30 for the nomination and election of the President of the Republic of South Africa.
