SOUTH AFRICAN QUALIFICATIONS AUTHORITY (SAQA)

PUBLIC NOTICE BY NSB 01, AGRICULTURE AND NATURE CONSERVATION, OF AN APPLICATION TO REGISTER AN SGB FOR GRAIN

NSB 01 has received an application to recognise and register an SGB for Grain.

PROPOSED BRIEF OF THE SGB
  1. Develop learning pathways for potential qualifications and unit standards in the sub-field Secondary Agriculture from level 1 through to level 8 [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
  2. Generate the unit standards-based qualifications

for the provision of farming requisites for the purpose of primary agricultural production and the storage, handling and processing of grain in the sub-field, in accordance with Authority requirements [Regulation 24(1)(a)].

  1. Recommend the qualifications and standards generated under 2, above, to the NSB [Regulation 24(1)(c)].
  2. Recommend criteria for the registration of assessors and moderators or moderating bodies [Regulation 24(1) (d)]; and
  3. Perform such other functions as may from time to time be assigned by NSB 01 [Regulation 24(1)(e)].
