NATIONAL MONUMENTS ACT, No. 28 OF 1969

PROVISIONAL DECLARATION AS A NATIONAL MONUMENT: THE PORTION OF BLOEMSPRUIT BETWEEN FIRST AVENUE AND ALIWAL AND GREEN STREETS, TOGETHER WITH THE BRIDGES SITUATED WITHIN THE STREET RESERVES IN MARKGRAAFF, PRESIDENT BRAND, ALIWAL AND GREEN STREETS, IN BLOEMFONTEIN

In terms of section 5 (1) (c) of the National Monuments Act, 1969 (Act No. 28 of 1969), the National Monuments Council hereby provisionally declares the portion of Bloemspruit between First Avenue and Aliwal and Green Streets, together with the bridges situated within the street reserves in Markgraaff, President Brand, Aliwal and Green Streets, as fully described below, to be a national monument.

Description

The erven including the portion of Bloemspruit between First Avenue and Aliwal and Green Streets, being Erf 24796, measuring 6 665 square metros, Erf 24798, measuring 7 277 square metros and Erf 24799, measuring 3 839 square metros, situated in the City and Municipality of Bloemfontein and held in terms of Deed of Transfer T8911/1986 of 30 October 1986, as well as the bridges over Bloemspruit situated within the municipal street reserves in Markgraaff, President Brand, Aliwal and Green Streets on the Remainder of the farm Bloemfontein 654, Bloemfontein District.
