GENERAL NOTICE

Notice 1667 of 1998

DEPARTMENT 0F JUSTICE

ANNEXING OF A PORTION OF THE DISTRICT OF MITCHELLS PLAIN TO THE DISTRICT OF WYNBERG

I, Abdulah Mohamed Omar, Minister of Justice, in terms of section 2 (1) (e) of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1944 (Act No. 32 of 1944), annex the portion of the District of Mitchells Plain as defined in the Schedule hereto, to the District of Wynberg as defined in Schedule D to Government Notice No. 448 of 10 February 1992, for the following purposes:

1. The adjudication of all criminal and civil matters emanating from the area.
2. The adjudication of inquests in terms of the Inquests Act, 1959 (Act No. 58 of 1959).
3. The adjudication of maintenance enquiries in terms of the Maintenance Act, 1963 (Act No. 23 of 1963).

SCHEDULE

Beginning at the south-western beacon of Erf 9061, Guguletu (the point where the northern boundary of Landsdowne Road intersects the western boundary of the Philippi-Nyanga railway line); thence northwards along the western boundary of the said railway line to the point where it intersects the north-eastern boundary of Settlers Way (N2); thence generally south-eastwards along the north-eastern boundary of the said Settlers Way (N2) to the point where it intersects the south-western boundary of the farm Drift Sands 544, Administrative District of Cape; thence south-eastwards along the last-mentioned boundary to the point where it intersects the said northern boundary of Landsdowne Road; thence generally westwards along the said northern boundary of Landsdowne Road to the said south-western beacon of Erf 9061, Guguletu, the point of beginning.
