ELECTRICITY ACT, 1987 (AS AMENDED) (ACT No. 60 of 1995)

LICENCE FEES PAYABLE BY LICENSED GENERATORS OF ELECTRICITY

Notice is hereby given that the Minister of Minerals and Energy intends, in terms of section 5B (2) of the Electricity Act, 1987 (as amended) (Act No. 60 of 1995), to prescribe licence fees which shall be payable for the period of 1 April 1998 to 31 March 1999 by licensed generators of electricity to fund the operations of the National Electricity Regulator (NER).

The amount and composition of the fees, based on the business plan and budget of the NER submitted in terms of section 5B (5) (b) of the said Act and approved by the NER, are as follows:-

CALCULATION OF LEVY ON ELECTRICITY GENERATED

The motivation for the above licence fees is to fund the functions of the NER for 1998/99 financial year.
