To provide for the repeal of the “Woordeboek van die Afrikaanse Taal” Act, 1973; and to provide for matters connected therewith.
BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, as fo11ows:-
- “Bureau” means the Bureau of the “Woordeboek v a n die Afrikaanse Taal” established by section 2 of the “Woordeboek van die Afrikaanse Taal” Act, 1973 (Act No. 50 of 1973);
- “the company” means the unit established under section 8(8)(c) of the Pan South African Language Board Act, 1995 (Act No. 59 of 1995), for the Afrikaans language.
- all assets, liabilities, rights and obligations of the Bureau are vested in the company without formal transfer and without payment of any fees, duties, taxes or other charges;
- all the staff of the Bureau become employees of the company-
- subject to the terms and conditions of employment that were applicable
- with retention of all obligations, pensionable service, leave and other
- anything done by or on behalf of the Bureau must be regarded as having been to them as staff of the Bureau; and benefits; and done by or on behalf of the company.
(2) For purposes of the Income Tax Act, 1962 (Act No. 58 of 1962)-
- the employment of staff contemplated in subsection (1)(b) must not be regarded as constituting a change of employer; and
- the position of the staff contemplated in paragraph ( a ) remains unchanged in respect of the phasing-in of tax levied on benefits or advantages derived by reason of employment or the holding of any office as contemplated in Schedule 7 to the Income Tax Act, 1962.
