It is hereby notified that the President has assented to the following Act which is hereby published for general information:-

ACT

To amend the Sale and Service Matters Act, 1964, so as to make provision for the assignment of certain functions and powers to a competent authority within the jurisdiction of the government of a province; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:-

Insertion of section 2A in Act 25 of 1964

1. The following section is hereby inserted in the Sale and Service Matters Act, 1964, after section 2:

"Assignment of functions and powers by Minister

2A. The Minister may by notice in the Gazette assign any function assigned to and any power conferred upon the Controller by or under this Act to a competent authority within the jurisdiction of the government of a province.".

Short title

2. This Act shall be called the Sale and Service Matters Amendment Act, 1995.
