NO. 24 OF 1995: LAND BANK AMENDMENT ACT, 1995.

It is hereby notified that the President has assented to the following Act which is hereby published for general information:-

ACT

To amend the Land Bank Act, 1944, so as to delete certain obsolete provisions; to repeal certain laws; to extend the application of the Land Bank Act, 1944, throughout the Republic; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:-

Amendment of section 21 of Act 13 of 1944, as amended by section 6 of Act 47 of 1959, section 2 of Act 35 of 1961, section 1 of Act 14 of 1964, section 5 of Act 46 of 1965, section 13 of Act 5 of 1968, section 3 of Act 41 of 1972, section 1 of Act 52 of 1975, section 1 of Act 109 of 1976, section 1 of Act 88 of 1981, section 3 of Act 89 of 1985, section 1 of Act 93 of 1988 and section 8 of Act 80 of 1989

1. Section 21 of the Land Bank Act, 1944 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), is hereby amended by the deletion of paragraph (c)ter of subsection (1).

Repeal of section 45quat of Act 13 of 1944

2. Section 45quat of the principal Act is hereby repealed.

Repeal of laws

3. The laws mentioned in the Schedule are hereby repealed to the extent reflected in the third column of the Schedule.

Extension of application of Act 13 of 1944

4. The principal Act shall apply throughout the Republic.

Short title and commencement

5. This Act shall be called the Land Bank Amendment Act, 1995, and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 27 April 1994.
